“3rd Annual Conference by the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIE) was held in Beijing on July 11, 2010. The AIE 2010 was a comprehensive international conference focused on various aspects of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The University of Tsinghua is recognized as the 2nd largest university with approximately 45,000 student population in China.

Nearly 100 papers were presented on various aspect of Entrepreneurship and speakers who attended to present papers were from 23 countries. Iqbal M. Khan, Senior Fellow Entrepreneurship at Lahore School of Economics presented his paper “Entrepreneurship Policy as the Architectural Design of the Space and SME as a Subset of the Policy”

Beijing is green, and beautiful. As a developed and beautiful city it is a good mix of the conventional & modern architecture. The Olympics was staged in 2008 which has transformed it into a very modern city with subways, international fast food, shopping centers and hotels to go with its bus system. Mass transport was the hallmark and it was extremely cheep to attract travel on busses or subways. The auto cycles and motorbikes were all run on battery. But all famous brands of cars are seen on the roads in Beijing.

The University campus of Tsinghua is remarkably large and very much the centre of the city. It houses all conceivable Departments and discipline of education and academia. By going for Innovation & Entrepreneurship it has put its finger on the most important subject of the first decade of 21st Century.

Speakers such as Allan Hughs from Cambridge were the highlight of the conference. Iqbal M. Khan was invited to present his paper twice as it attracted interest and on both occasion the audience appreciated the paper. It also provoked discussion.

He is scheduled to present a paper on “Women Entrepreneurship and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Economic Emancipation and Clout for Pakistani Women” at Estonia this August and to attend the World Entrepreneurship Forum in France this November 2010”.
